The Indians put up an amazing show. This is the lowest target Pakistan has failed to pursue in this tournament and the lowest target they have defended in a T20 World Cup.
Jasprit Bumrah Shines As India Beat Pakistan By 6 Runs In Last Over Thriller
Jasprit Bumrah bowled a terrific spell as India beats Pakistan by 6 runs at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
At the Nassau County Stadium in New York, India defeated Pakistan by six runs thanks to a brilliant bowling display led by Jasprit Bumrah, who helped the team defend a goal of 120.
Pakistan seemed to have gotten off to a strong start in their pursuit with Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan. Shivam Dube’s decision to give Rizwan a second chance at life and to drop off a sitter for Bumrah was unfortunate.
However, Suryakumar Yadav’s incredible catch allowed him to get Babar in his second over. Pakistan was in the powerplay at 35/1. However, India stormed back after the tenth over. With Jasprit Bumrah scoring a commanding 3/14 and Hardik Pandya taking 2/24, Pakistan needed to win by 18 runs in the final over.
Prior to being dismissed for 119 runs in 19 overs, Pakistan’s pacers dominated the game, and their fielders helped them for a big chunk of the Indian innings.
Axar Patel was released before Suryakumar Yadav along with Rishabh Pant, and he gave India some impetus in the powerplay. The two scored 39 runs for the third wicket off 30 deliveries before Naseem sent Axar out for 20 off 18.
The fielders supported the Pakistani bowlers, who continued to bowl on the money. India lost four wickets for just 16 runs between the 11th and 15th overs, indicating that the pressure eventually paid off.
Rain had caused a thirty-minute delay in the toss, right before what was undoubtedly the biggest match of the tournament’s group stage. After all, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. But then the rain came again, which caused the game to start much later than expected. When the match did begin, Shaheen Afridi’s opening over yielded eight runs to Rohit Sharma. Another rain delay ensued after this.

Pakistan was well positioned at 73 for 3 in 12.1 overs, needing 47 runs per ball as they chased a total of 120, but some brilliant bowling from Bumrah reversed the tenor of the game. With figures of 3 for 14 in four overs, he finished with a major contribution to stopping Pakistan at 113 for 7 in twenty overs.
Earlier, Pakistan’s pacers outperformed India by 119 runs, demonstrating their accuracy. Pakistan’s finest bowlers were Mohammad Amir with two wickets, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf with three wickets apiece.
Pakistani captain Babar Azam allowed Pakistani batsman Rishabh Pant 42 runs when he choose to bowl first and toss, but other Indian hitters were unable to make an impact.Mohammad Amir, who had two wickets, came next.
India had a fantastic position with 81 for 3 after ten overs, but the next nine overs saw a batting collapse as the team managed to score 38 runs and lose seven wickets.

That’s two times in a row that India has defeated Pakistan in a T20 World Cup encounter, even though they looked to be down and out for the most of it. This time, it was their bowling mainstay Jasprit Bumrah who lifted them out of the hole; the last time, it was their batting stalwart Kohli.
India has won two of its last two matches, while Pakistan has lost both of its last two. Suddenly, getting into the Super 8 is a little more difficult for the 2009 champions. As the top team in Group A, India, on the other hand, would be feeling very comfortable about themselves.
They will now play the USA on June 12 at Nassau County, and for their last game, they will play Canada at Lauderhill, Florida, which is a more familiar venue. Pakistan, on the other hand, will play Ireland in Lauderhill on June 16 and Canada in Nassau County on June 11.
